This year feels different. Ever since Covid, life has slowly changed and we are all adapting to the new 'norms'. Christmas time, especially, is going to become something very different. For our family in particular, we are adjusting to the idea of creating our own traditions. In previous years, we followed the extended family plans. This year, my husband and I have started planning what our future years will look like over the holidays. Thanksgiving will not be Thanksgiving without pecan pie. Christmas morning has to be when we all come in the living room as a family to open presents. We are also going to try to invest in more decorating for both of these holidays, and it will be in our Nerd style. This is just the beginning of our plans. We are still trying to work out details on traditions we want to start and maintain in the years to come. Which is why I was very excited when I heard about Oliver the Ornament!

What is Oliver the Ornament?
Oliver the Ornament is the first of seven books written by Todd M. Zimmermann. The series is all about one family's collection of ornaments. You learn of the various ornaments the family has and what makes them special.
What I loved about this story
It is heartwarming when you learn of why each ornament has their place on the tree. It reminds me of ornaments we have on ours. And the memories that come with them. We love decorating our tree as a family. Each one of us has our own ornaments. My husband has several that came from a tradition his family had of giving each child an ornament every year.
We have 2 of the same ornament that my Mother-in-law gave each of us for our first Christmas together. The children have characters from favorite movies.
We love them all, and look forward to making memories with new ones. Just like the family in this book, we share stories with our kids about the ornaments and past memories of our Christmas celebrations.
Where can you find Oliver?
Oliver the Ornament can be purchased online through their website HERE. You can get free shipping on orders $25 or more. And free digital download. They have the books as well as ornaments, puzzles and snow globes.
So popular has Oliver become, that even the First Lady took time to read them. It was included in Fox & Friends Hottest Toys of the Year grouping as well! So check them out and be sure to let me know your thoughts.
